Amazon PPC Agency Pricing in 2026: What You Should Actually Pay

There are two numbers in any Amazon PPC arrangement, and they get blurred together more often than they should. The first is your ad spend: what Amazon charges per click. The second is the management fee: what you pay the person or agency running the account. This post is about the second one.
All figures below are USD and come from agencies' and pricing guides' own published 2026 numbers, linked in each section.
The four pricing models
| Model | Typical 2026 range | How it works | The catch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flat monthly retainer | $1,500–$5,000 for small to mid-size brands; $500–$3,000 for PPC-only | Fixed fee regardless of spend | Nothing ties it to performance, so scope matters |
| Percentage of ad spend | 10–20% of monthly spend, usually with a minimum | Fee rises and falls with your ad budget | Pays the agency more when you spend more |
| Percentage of revenue | 3–10% of Amazon sales | Fee tied to total sales | Ignores margin, expensive at scale |
| Hybrid | $1,000–$2,000 base plus 2–5% of ad revenue | Lower base, share of the upside | Hardest to compare between agencies |
What PPC-only management should cost
A lot of the published ranges are for full-service agencies that also run listings, creative, inventory and account health. If you only need the advertising managed, the numbers are lower:
- Flat fees for PPC-only management generally run $500 to $3,000 a month.
- Freelancers sit around $500 to $2,000 a month; agencies around $1,500 to $5,000, or 10 to 20% of spend.
- At $5,000 to $20,000 a month in ad spend, expect around $1,500 to $3,000 a month for competent management.
- Bid-management software you run yourself costs about $50 to $400 a month, and is a reasonable choice on small budgets.
The percentage-of-spend trap
A percentage looks fair at low spend and gets expensive as you grow, because the fee scales with your budget while the work doesn't scale anywhere near as fast. The arithmetic at a 15% fee:
| Monthly ad spend | 15% management fee |
|---|---|
| $5,000 | $750 |
| $10,000 | $1,500 |
| $20,000 | $3,000 |
| $50,000 | $7,500 |
Managing $50,000 a month is not five times the work of managing $10,000. It's also why a flat retainer tends to become the cheaper option once spend passes $10,000 to $15,000 a month.
The bigger problem is the incentive. On a percentage model, the agency earns more when you spend more. That's fine when more spend means more profit, and it's a quiet conflict when the right call is to cut spend on campaigns that aren't paying.
The minimums nobody puts on the homepage
- Minimum fees. Percentage-of-spend agencies commonly set a floor of $1,000 to $2,500 or $1,500 to $3,000 a month. At low spend, the "15%" is really the minimum.
- Minimum ad spend. Many PPC agencies won't take an account below a set budget, quoted at $3,000 to $5,000 by one guide and $5,000 to $20,000 a month by another.
- Onboarding and extras. Setup fees, creative, and anything outside Sponsored Ads often sit outside the quoted retainer. Ask what the monthly number actually covers.
Five questions to ask before you sign
- Is the fee flat or a percentage, and is there a minimum? Get the minimum in writing.
- What exactly is included? Sponsored Products only, or Sponsored Brands too? Listings? Reporting?
- Who reads the search-term report each week? That review is most of what management is. If nobody can name the person, it's automation with a logo.
- How long is the contract, and how do you leave? The first couple of months are a restructure and a learning phase, so a short initial term is reasonable. A 12-month lock-in isn't.
- Whose account is it? Your ad account lives inside your Seller Central. The agency should work in it with user access, and everything it builds should stay with you.
What ACoS IQ charges
I publish my pricing, because the answer to "how much?" shouldn't need two calls. It's a flat monthly fee, PPC only, with no percentage of spend and no setup fee:
- Launch: $750 a month, for $1,000 to $5,000 in monthly ad spend
- Growth: $1,500 a month, for $5,000 to $20,000
- Scale: from $2,500 a month above $20,000, quoted after the audit
Three-month first term, then month to month. The details are on the pricing page, and the method behind the work is published in full. If you'd rather see what your own account needs first, the free PPC audit is where that starts.
FAQ
How much does an Amazon PPC agency cost per month?
Most published 2026 ranges put agency management at roughly $1,500 to $5,000 a month, or 10 to 20% of monthly ad spend. PPC-only management from a smaller operator often runs lower, around $500 to $3,000 a month on a flat fee. Full-service agencies that also run listings, creative and operations charge well above that.
Is a percentage of ad spend or a flat fee better?
A percentage of spend is easy to start with but pays the agency more when you spend more, whether or not the extra spend is profitable. A flat fee removes that incentive and usually works out cheaper once spend passes about $10,000 to $15,000 a month.
Do Amazon PPC agencies have minimums?
Usually, and they are often buried. Percentage-of-spend agencies commonly set a minimum fee of $1,000 to $3,000 a month, and many PPC agencies won't take an account below a minimum ad spend, typically quoted anywhere from $3,000 to $20,000 a month.
